It seems a rare occasion that my son has seemingly "fun" homework (for ME to help with/listen to). Tonight he brought home a fun book that he read to me. It was called "Ideas to Inventions" by Kim Borland. Here are some fun facts for our brains...
List of inventions and the year they were invented:
1873: earmuffs
1902: windshield wipers
1904: ice cream cone
1930: chocolate chip cookies
1948: velcro
1970: self-stick notes (ie. post-its)
The stories behind how they were invented were quite cool (and simple), but since I'm not rewriting the book, you'll have to google it or go to the library to find out further info!:)
